KOMET: HIGH-QUALITY OIL PRESSES SINCE 1961.

The KOMET oil presses characterised by a particular cold pressing procedure, in which pure screw conveyors are used in the oil press to press the oil, instead of individual compression screws. This means that the oil seeds are carefully pressed without constant mixing and tearing. One advantage of the procedure is that numerous oil seeds, other seeds and nuts can be processed without changing the screws and without changing the oil outlet openings, i.e. with standard equipment of the oil press.

The KOMET oil press or screw oil press is particularly maintenance-friendly since it does not have any multipart strainer cages, but features a one-part pressing cylinder instead. This also enables quicker changes between different oil seeds, which is especially beneficial when processing smaller batches. The form of the press cake leaving the oil press – in pellets – is also advantageous, since it is easy to store and transport. The oil produced by the oil press or screw oil press is characterised by excellent quality due to the low pressing temperature and the particularly gentle pressing. Depending on the initial material, it can be used as an edible oil without any post-processing.

WHERE WE COME FROM AND WHERE WE WANT TO GO – THE IMPERIAL PERIOD MEETS INDUSTRY 4.0

IBG Monforts can look back on a company history of more than 130 years. August Monforts founded “A Monforts”, which initially manufactured textile and tool machines, in 1884 under the reign of Fürst Otto von Bismarck. In 1957, Casper Monforts von Hobe and Dr. Franz Reiners spun off the brush roller department and founded IBG Monforts & Reiners oHG. At the start of the 1960s, IBG Monforts was one of the first companies to be active in the areas of manufacturing of PTFE parts and implantation of Teflon® coatings. The company group, renamed as IBG Monforts GmbH & Co. KG in 1991, is still in the hands of the family today under the management of Christian Monforts.

The move of our production and administration facilities to our current, much bigger and modernised site to Mönchengladbach in 2017 represents an important milestone in the more recent history of the company. We are currently working very intensively to prepare our company for the requirements and opportunities of Industry 4.0 on a step by step basis, and to implement additional quality management processes at the same time.
